What caught me off guard the most was the hub area, CPU Plaza, having surprise platforming sections along its walls that spring to life instantly. However, the gameplay highlights in Astro’s Playroom are the special suits of the four areas. Astro’s Playroom is not a particularly difficult game, so you shouldn’t really have too much trouble finishing it regardless of your ability level. Nevertheless, in this final part of our Astro’s Playroom guide we’re going to share some tips and tricks to help get you started. Explore four worlds, each one showcasing innovative gameplay using the new and versatile features of the PS5 DualSense™ wireless controller.

Cooling Springs Special Bot Location

Astro’s Playroom goes a step further by setting itself entirely inside your PlayStation 5, with the four worlds based on the SSD, GPU, and other major components. While platforming games do not appeal to everyone, players can spend a few good hours going through obstacle courses and hunting a few easter eggs tucked away by the developers. If you just bought a PlayStation 5 or had one at launch, it would be a shame to miss experiencing a game that is completely free in 2025.

Game Details

After the melting snow platform section down the river, on the right side you can see two Bots by a door with a Bot further on in a lab coat. https://vz88.org/ refers to 1996’s Resident Evil on the PS1, developed by Capcom. The two characters are Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, while the lab coat Bot is series villain Albert Wesker. The door is a reference to show the game hid loading times, by showing a shot of a door opening to disguise the load between rooms. Once you encounter the first Shock Walls, make your way South-East into a pink area filled with spider webs you can thrust through. At the end you’ll find an Artefact, as well as a Bot hanging upside-down from the ceiling by a web.

But, more importantly, it’s a promise of new and treasured memories to come. Sony leans into its PlayStation past in this frequently innovative, supremely charming old-school 3D platformer. However, I have been very disappointed in their increasingly silly take on PSSR. If you have only unlocked one or two in Astro’s Playroom, they will appear here individually, meaning you can return and get the rest when you are ready.

Puzzle Piece 2/4 – Once you reach the ice ramp, instead of proceeding forward jump down to the right where you can find this puzzle piece under the platform you’re meant to jump to. Puzzle Piece 1/4 – Right after getting into the spring suit, charge a jump to the left to break through the glass to find this puzzle piece. Puzzle Piece 1/4 – On the lower floor of CPU Plaza, pull the three wires on the platform in the corner by the ramp down to reveal this puzzle piece.

Astro’s Playroom is as old as the PlayStation 5, and this is most likely the first game new owners booted up. Despite being a brief experience, this is the kind of game that can be played with family members and is worth playing in 2025. Sony Interactive Entertainment finally nailed the platforming genre, and it only took a cute little robot to give them the courage to innovate. Another display you can unlock for the Labo area is a sign with the Sony Interactive Entertainment logo which, if punched three times, will drop down and reveal the Sony Computer Entertainment logo.

This includes all the aforementioned key areas of levels with physical mandatory controls, but also some minor elements that appear briefly through the game. Further mandatory physical interaction with the controller includes blowing into the microphone and flicking your finger to launch Astro like a slingshot. Whilst there are serious problems, I personally found these to have a workaround that made them doable.

Keep track of your progress using in-game checklists to ensure no collectibles are missed. Patience and thorough exploration are key to unlocking everything the game has to offer‚ including its hidden trophies and special bots. To efficiently unlock all trophies in Astro Playroom‚ start by completing the main story while collecting as many puzzle pieces and artifacts as possible. Backtrack to previous levels to gather any missed collectibles‚ ensuring you don’t miss out on hidden trophies.

Just a few days ago, we added a second Special Bot, Selene, from the PS5 title Returnal. Once again, working together, you were able to crack the riddle and free her to make it 2 out of 4. This will complete the challenge, unlocking the Ape Escape Special Bot and earning you the No Escape! If this is your final Special Bot to unlock, you’ll also get the Four the Players Trophy. Throw the cannister with the net inside at the blue aura when the lock-on symbol appears to reveal the Special Bot.

Inside the capsule, another Special Bot (Lady Maria) appears to be trapped and needs rescuing. Replaying levels is fun enough to find the hidden artifacts and jigsaw puzzle pieces to complete the mural in the lobby, but there isn’t much incentive beyond that. Using the new PS5 hint system accessible from the overlay menu works well to track down tricky hidden objects and should make getting tricky trophies much more manageable in games like this going forward. Unique Actions and Challenges in Astro Playroom require players to perform specific in-game actions‚ such as jumping three times during a spin attack on ice or punching a hidden bush to reveal a secret bot. These trophies add a layer of creativity and exploration to the game‚ encouraging players to experiment with Astro’s abilities and interact with the environment in unconventional ways. Completing these challenges not only rewards trophies but also enhances the overall gameplay experience‚ making the journey to 100% completion both fun and rewarding.
